lbs into kg

Ooooooo... What a treat to the eyes!! 52.5 kg šI knew and had this feeling that I had lost some of my kilos!!! But I could not verify the hunch as we were busy travelling. Yet, the moment I landed back home, the first thing I did on finding some free time was to climb on the dear friend, the weighing machine, and check it out for myself, and there I saw the golden numbersšAlthough I must confess that it wasn't such a big dip. I used to average around 55k, but I am sure you will agree, how difficult it is for us to see even a few grams short! Don't get me wrong!! For many, 55 kg may be their average, but considering that I am 5 feet, I am towards the higher side even at 55š
Now, the task is easier when our friend, the good old scale (from hence we will call the weighing machine by its pet name, scale), gives us the figures and we know this is what it is, the kilos we weigh. Now my personal dilemma comes when I come across these ads whereby they let us go on to a quiz to identify our diet plan or the exercise or fitness regime best suited for us and ask us for our body weight in lbsā¹ļø. I then look at my dear scale with pitiful eyes but my silent requests go on deaf ears (considering for a moment that inanimate objects can hear us) and the scale still gives me only my kilo weight. And then I have to go to my other friend, Google and punch in the details requesting a conversion of kilos into lbs. The issue here is that the lbs figures seem so big that they already make us feel bigger than we actually are. Anyways, somehow, on reaching the last question of this very entertaining quiz, when finally, we are excited to know our best fitting diet plan, it asks us for a deposit in US dollars. Just seeing this last scene of the quiz drama makes one wonder if shelling out the requested dollars is worth the few grams I may or may not loose, and then our better sense prevails and we are more than happy to remain a few grams extra rather than a few dollars shortš
And we go back to our dear friend, our scale, our loyal weighing machine and happily stand on it once again to make sure we did not loose any of our kilos and thereby dollarsš¤
On a lighter note, I personally feel that there is nothing called an "ideal weight". Each one's body-type and personality determines the weight that would suit them. Just like an antelope can't have the weight of an ant and an elephant cant be an elephant with a deer's weight. Similarly, no two individuals can look alike and trying to compare with one another is the biggest mistake one can commit! The aspect we should focus upon is whether we are hale & healthy, fit & agile, flexible and alert based on the life we live. External weight is something which should reflect our internal health. Having a sturdy body with good health is better than having a frail body with no energy. Similarly being skinny with healthy mind & body is better than having the so-called average weight with a disturbed mind & unhealthy diet pattern. So one should be very careful when imitating their idols or when chasing after their dream weight. What's most important is striving for a positive, healthy mind inside an active, pure & robust body.
